The Nebbiolo delle Langhe by Roccheviberti comes from the vineyards that run along the hills of the Rocche, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, at an average altitude of 350 meters, with a south/southeastern exposure. The Viberti family owns 4.5 hectares, a portion of which comprise the vineyards for the Rocche di Castiglione, Bricco Boschis and Mariondino crus. The grapes that contribute to this Nebbiolo come from thirty-year-old plants and are grapes destined for Barolo. The vinification takes place at a controlled temperature in steel fermenters and is subsequently aged in French oak barrels of 20-25 hl and tonneaux of 5 hl for 18 months, then a further 6 months in the bottle.
Roccheviberti's Nebbiolo delle Langhe is a beautiful bright ruby red color. The nose is inviting, with notes of wild strawberries, forest balsams, and fresh spices. In the mouth it is full and flavorful, with noteworthy, well-integrated tannins, and a thirst-quenching finish. This is a very versatile wine that is easier to drink than a Barolo but no less worthy of attention. Excellent with cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses, or with pappardelle with duck sauce.
